Archives online

I've gotten the archives feature working in case anyone wants to go over some of my older blog entries. It's going to have a couple more revisions as I'd like to get it looking a little more like the main page with menu boxes and so on, but at least it's working, which is more then it was doing this morning.

Home of the Geek

Tonight Steve came home with a wireless network card for his laptop. I spent a couple minutes installing it, and in no time flat he was connected to our lan wirelessly. After checking to make sure that it worked okay, we put our new toys to use, chatting to each other over aim- from different ends of the same couch.

Home again

I've arrived home safe and in one piece. We left San Diego around 4:00am and didnt arrive home until nearly 3:00pm. Granted, we did stop a couple of times along the way, but due to post-thankgiving traffic, this was still the longest journey yet (the shortest being just over 6 and a half hours).
Upon arriving home, I literally passed out in the middle of typing a text message and didn't wake up for about 4 hours. It's nice to be sleeping in my own bed again, but I wish I had more time to spend with Ben, Ashley, and the girls. I think I'll probably try and carry on my birthday tradition and go down there again in Feb. In the meantime, there are some pictures from the trip available here.

More blogger updates!

Tonight, for the past couple of hours, Ben and I have been going over some of my blog code. We've made several changes making the code a little more compact and efficient. We also made a start on the long awaited "archives" option to allow you to see blog entries more then 30 days old.
In other news, today was my final full day in San Diego :-(
As as grand finale to the trip, we are going to head down to Tijuana for the night where we can look forward to getting into a little trouble before returning home.

Zero to Horny in 5 shots!

"Hey Ashley, this game's pretty" spoketh Ben after 4 drinks. In reality, this comment made quite a bit more sense then his earlier comments such as "I could see her... and they were blue"
Ashley on the other hand, is doing remarkaly better then last night at the whole "being sober" thing, although I suspect that she is in a rush to get home and remedy this situation. The girls, along with steve and nick are drinking, but seem to be doing fairly well, and as for me... I'm working on it, but suspect I have quite a way to go.
In the two minute gap between the last sentance and this one, Ashley had a double shot of tequila. It looked like she was debating it as she stood there sniffing the glass, but after I made a small comment about "you pussy" she decided that we would be calling a taxi to get home.
The events leading up to now included seeing a movie at an imax theatre and going to Dave and Busters for dinner, drinks, and video games. I won 1037 tickets and ended up walking away from the prize booth with 6 shot glasses, and a pair of handcuffs.

HI! This is ashley... Brendan left his laptop here and open and logged in so I h4x0rz him... hi2u world! Go read my blog at flog the bl0g... dot blogspot... dot com. I just had another double shot of tequila... I didn't really like it too much. But that's weird because I used to really like tequila and now I don't like it as much... because I puked it all up last night. Go read the whole story at my blog. I LOVE YOU ALL. Brendan just told me he hates me. Bye everyone. <3 <3 <3 I'm typing remarkably well but the alcohol hasn't kicked in yet. BLASH.

Arrival

After a long night of driving, we have arrived at the girls house. Apparently, this house is only about 3 miles away from Ben and Ashleys place which should make this weekend a lot easier to coordinate. We're all going to take a brief nap now, but will be up and at 'em in about 2 hours.

All my bags are packed, I'm ready to go

Actually, my bags aren't packed, and I have a few things to do before I'm entirely ready to leave, but regardless, Steve, Nick, and I should be on our way to San Diego by 8:00 or 9:00 tonight. It's great to get out of town for a few days, if only to harass Ben and Ashley. And of course the girls. We'll be driving all night in shifts. First me, then Nick, then Steve. Nick has the worst shift, but as long as he has a steady supply of starbucks we should be good (I apologize to anyone who doesn’t understand why this is so hilariously funny).
I'm going to bring along my travel set of toys including a radar detector, GPS, MP3 CD player, and of course my new laptop. We'll also have a couple digital cameras so that we can take a whole bunch of pictures to share.
Wow, I'm really on a roll with all the links today. Don't feel that you have to visit each one if you don't want to.
The last two things I need to do tonight, are buy a suit, and get a haircut.

Waffles!

Last week my mom gave me a Waffle iron, and today I came in to work early and made waffels for myself and several of my co-workers! I'm not really much of a breakfast person, but it was a nice change of pace. All things said and done, however, it was not worth getting up 90 minutes early. Co-workers seem to like me though ;-p

How secure do I feel?

Last week some disgruntled customer informed us that he would be coming today to collect money that we apparently owe him. As a precaution ATG hired a security guard for both of its Santa Rosa locations. I don't know what exactly these guys do, but when I came in this morning, I realized that I had left my ID at home. I was wearing a guinness t-shirt and carrying a motorcycle helmet with my hair as wild as it gets considering the length. I barely looked at the guy when I walked in, and he never said a word to me. Work is over now, and as I predicted... nothing happened.

Christopher Walken.....or Bigfoot Who would win in a battle to the death?

I think Christopher Walken is stalking me through his movies.
I'M NOT CRAZY!
I can't get away from him! It started when Steve and Nick rented Saturday Night Live: The Best of Christopher Walken. From there it went on to The Stepford Wives, then Poolhall Junkies, and now Envy. HE'S IN EVERY MOVIE I WATCH!

Ohh... Pretty....

I'm sorry for all the video game blogs (I think they probably take up about 50% of my entries) but I just had to share this with everyone. Coming out sometime in 2005, this is probably the coolest thing I've ever seen. If I was to personally design a game, this would be it.

Breakfast

I don't really like Breakfast food much, but lately I've been craving it. Specifically Belgian Waffles. Amazon.com has a Belgian Waffler for $9.99, but I really don't know if I can wait a week for it to arrive. I've put it to Sammy to price waffle irons at Sears for me, and with some luck they'll have a simular deal going on.

New site features?

I was thinking about adding a simple poll feature to the website. Not sure if I'll ever get around to it or not, but it’s another thing for me to add to the “I’m bored” list...
What will the first question be? "Did you think I was gay the first time you met me?"
For some reason, this topic came up this evening at work. Apparently a couple of co-workers assumed I was gay before they got to know me. Now I'm just kinda curious how many other people had this misconception? I mean, I realize I have a slight accent, but it's hardly a lisp. And I don't think that I do any of the stereotypical gay mannerisms... so what is it about me that would cause people to jump to that conclusion?

The immortal

I was watching Star Trek The Next Generation when I came to a creepy realization. Patrick Stewart, aka Captain Picard, doesn't age. Do a google image search if you don't believe me. From what I can tell, he was born at age 55 and will remain that way until the day he dies. This is assuming that he won't live forever which I wouldn't put past him.

Ashleys Crack (Conclusion)

It's been nearly 2 hours now, and my heart rate is at 82. It's about half an hour after I normally go to bed, and I'm feeling pretty damn tired. I think in reality the only thing keeping me awake right now is GTA. Like all good experiments, more then one test is needed to verify results, but so far I have to say that I am not terribly impressed with Ashleys crack.

Ashleys Crack (Part 3)

Heart rate after 45 minutes is now 76bmp. I had been walking around a little right before I measured my heart rate the first time which might have accounted for the higher rate, but right now it is hard tell if the effects of the Redline wore off or if it never had any effect to start with.

Ashleys Crack (Part 2)

It's been about 25 minutes since I took the packet. Only noticable side effect so far has been that I seem to be burping a lot. I may be slightly more jittery then normal, but it isn't all that noticable right now. I did, however, check my heart rate which is at about 92bpm. This is slightly higher then the average at rest speed of 60-80, but this does vary per person, and I failed to check the rate before I took the packet so I have no control to measure against.

Ashleys Crack (Part 1)

Well, it's about 12:50 on a Saturday night, and I just took the packet of Redline that Ashley sent me. She claims that this stuff kept her up and jittery all night, despite the fact that caffine has little to no effect on her. I'm in the same boat with caffeine, and I have to say that I'm a little skeptical about this actually working. If it's enough to keep me awake, I'll post updates as I see fit.
Note to anyone who takes this stuff: Sprite makes a good chaser, as it tastes like a really bad cinnamon flavored cough syrup.

Losing

I was playing pool tonight, and doing considerably worse then I should have been. Turns out that my cue wasn't straight, but for the first couple of games I was starting to get pretty annoyed with my performance.
Todays lesson: Check equipment before use.

Halloween Party

I was a little worried when 7:00 (two hours after the official start) rolled around and only two guests had arrived for the party. Fortunately around this time everyone else started to show up too and by 8 or 9 we had a fairly large crowd. Beer and cheap booze flowed like water, and a good time was had by most if not all. We'll probably end up doing this again next year, so if you didn't make it to this one, see what you missed.
